Sakai City Volunteer Interpreters System

This is a free service for residents whose mother tongue is not Japanese. A volunteer interpreter will meet you at a pre-agreed time and place to provide interpretation. Please note that translation is not available through this service.

This system is conducted through cooperation by volunteers, so neither Sakai City nor volunteers take any responsibility for damages caused by misinterpretations. Please also be aware there may be some cases that we cannot deal with, depending on the contents, date, and time. If you need a professional interpretation, please ask a professional interpreter.

Available languages include English, Chinese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Thai, Indonesian, French, Italian, German, etc.

Applications must be submitted 10 days before the day you need the service. (You can consult us in an urgent case.) Please fill out the "Volunteer Interpreter Request Form" in any of the above languages and send it to the below address via post, fax or email.
