NAGATSUKA

Located on the southwest of JR Mozu station, Nagatsuka Kofun is a keyhole-shaped burial mound, facing west. The mound measures approximately 106.4 meters long, with the round part about 59.4 meters in diameters and 8.2 meters high and the square part about 75.2 meters wide and 8.3 meters high. It is constructed in two tiers. There is tsukuridashi connecting to the southern constricted part. The moat around the mound has already been buried, and houses surround the kofun today. Cylindrical haniwa has been unearthed, yet, the structure of the main burial facility and its mortuary goods remain unknown.
It is designated as one of national historic sites.
