Shin Tomb

THE TOMB OF SHIN- THE FIRST EMPEROR OF CHINA

The first emperor of China, Shin, was the king of a small province during China's Age of the Warring States. He succeeded in unifying the country and was the first king to have the title of emperor attached to his name.
It is said that it took 700,000 people and 38 years to construct his tomb. It runs north and south with a length of 345 meters and a hight of 76 meters. The overall area of the tomb is approximately 3,000,000m3. Found within the tomb were 8000 war horses.
The First Emperor of China was also known for the Great Wall of China and the Funshokouja incident, where all books - except for medical, fortune-telling and agricultural - were burned and students of Confucianism were buried alive.
