How to call for a firetruck and ambulance

As of April 1, 2025, Sakai City Fire Bureau is now able to provide 119 call and on-the-scene interpretation for foreign residents, exchange students, tourists etc. in six languages.
Languages: English, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, Portuguese, Vietnamese

[How the System Works]
Calling 119: A three-way call will be set up between you, the dispatcher, and an interpreter.
At the scene of an emergency: A two-way call will be set up with an interpreter. You and the on-site emergency service personnel pass the phone back and forth, communicating via the interpreter on the phone.
