TADEIYAMA TUMULUS
Location
Kitamikunigaoka-cho 2, Sakai City

It is a keyhole-shaped burial mound in Kitamikunigaoka Town, turning its rectangular part to the south. It is at the northern tip of the Mozu Tumuli Group, and is now in charge of the Imperial Household Agency as the north mausoleum -Emperor Hanzei's Tumulus- of the three Mozumimihara Tumulus.
Tadeiyama Tumulus is about 148 meters long. The round part of the mound is about 76 meters long and 14 meters high, and the rectangular part about 110 meters wide and 15 meters high. It is the seventh largest keyhole-shaped burial mound among the Mozu Tumuli Group. Although the shield-type moat around it is now single, excavation conducted outside the rectangular part revealed that the part had a double moat. Though it is a nice large keyhole-shaped burial mound with baizuka and a double moat, it is quite small compared with Daisen Tumulus(Nintoku-ryo Tumulus), Misanzai Tumulus(Richu Tumulus ), or Nisanzai Tumulus, and some are against the idea of considering the burial mound as Hanzei-ryo Tumulus.
