Alien Registration

Foreigners are required to report pertinent information to the Civic Affairs Division of ward office as described in the following table. Individuals 16 years of age and older must apply in person. Co-resident family members can appear on behalf of the applicant for applications such as changes of address that do not require the reissue of the applicant's Certificate of Alien Registration (gaikokujintoroku shomeisho).

Requesting issue of a Registered Information Certificate

Review the identification requirements described below before requesting this certificate. The certificate is issued by the Citizen Section of ward office. A power of attorney signed by the applicant is required when an individual other than the applicant or a co-resident family member is appearing at the ward office. Fee: ¥200 per certificate
