HOW TO USE THE VRML BROWSER USING Live3D

Live3D is a standard plug-in used with Netscape Navigator 3.0x.
Basic operations are performed using the menu bar at the lowest portion of the client domain (window display).
The menu appears as below.

By clicking on the words or arrows you can instruct the browser on what type of command you want to perform.
Except for the up/down arrows, each time you click on a word the color will change. Green or yellow indicates what has been selected. Words in white are items that are not in effect.

walk, spin, look, and slide may be selected only one at a time.

walk

Allows you to move to and away from the object. You may also walk around the object. You can move through the VRML world just as if you were actually walking. Moving the mouse up or down allows you to move forward or backward-always with a forward gaze. By dragging the mouse up to the left or right when walking, you can move either forward or backward diagonally in either direction.

spin

Allows you to rotate the object. Moving the mouse up lets you view the object from underneath. Moving the mouse down lets you view the object from the top. You can check the object from all angles by moving the mouse left or right. Depending on the distance from the object, the way it rotates will change.
Experiment by rotating the object from many different angles.

look

Allows you to look over the surroundings from an actual viewer's standpoint.
The overall view will move in the direction of the mouse, however, the direction of the viewer's gaze will not change. Because the overall view will change, if you move the mouse up it will appear as if the object has moved down.

slide

Allows you to move the object from side to side. The object will move in the direction of the mouse.

point

By setting this command, you can click on any point you wish to enlarge and you will suddenly approach the object.

lamp

By setting this command, the object will be illuminated with light from a light source. By clicking on the up/down arrows, you can increase or decrease the power of the light.

view

This menu selection allows you to return to a preselected viewpoint automatically. If there are multiple settings, you can choose the desired view by clicking on the up/down arrows,.

?

By clicking this icon, a simple explanation of operating instructions will appear on the screen. For example- "When walking, if you drag the mouse to the right you can do the same thing as selecting SPIN ". Knowing these kinds of hints may prove to be very useful and therefore it is suggested that you take a quick look at them in the beginning.
