Requests to Residents to Prevent the Spread of COVID-19

Area: Entire Osaka
Period: Until December 31

  • Take thorough infection prevention measures such as: avoiding the *Three Cs, wearing a mask, washing your hands, ventilating frequently, etc.

Three Cs: *Closed spaces, Crowded places, Close-contact settings)

  • Obey four rules of dining:
  1. Dine in a group of four or less*(1)
  2. Dine within around two hours
  3. Use restaurants that have a Gold Sticker
  4. Wear a mask while dining*(2)

*(1)Family members, babies and infants, and caregivers for the elderly and people with disabilities are excluded.
*(2)This is not applied if diseases, etc. make wearing a mask difficult.

  • Thoroughly observe the above four rules especially when joining Christmas and year-end parties etc. where many peopple get together.

This initiative is intended to encourage the practice of a new life and work style to delay and mitigate the second wave of COVID-19. It is based on the New Lifestyle announced by the government.
38 pictograms of preventive actions can be downloaded for free so please use them at home, workplaces, restaurants etc. to prevent infections.

  2. Wear a mask (even if you don’t have any symptoms)
  3. Wash your hands (and face if necessary right after coming back home for 30 sec with water and soap)
  4. Promote tele-working

  • Osaka COVID-19 Tracing System

This is Osaka Prefecture's system to send an alert email to those registered in case they had close-contact with someone at the same event or facility who later tested positive for COVID-19.
Please refer to the poster to see how the system works.

  • COVID-19 Contact Confirming Application (COCOA)

This is a smartphone application supplied by Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare. Just install the application and turn bluetooth on, then you'll be notified if you have close contacts with those infected during the past 2 weeks.
